How It Started
A love for beautiful, barefoot gatherings
The Wandering Affair began with a simple belief: the best celebrations don't need a banquet hall — they need the right rug underfoot, the right cushion to sink into, and the right light as the sun goes down.
What started as styling intimate picnics for friends and family grew into a full hire collection — hand-embroidered cushions collected for their colour and craft, vintage-style kilim rugs, fringed Balinese umbrellas and brass lanterns — all curated to mix, layer and travel beautifully from one gathering to the next.
Today, we style picnics, birthdays, baby showers, kitchen teas and intimate celebrations across Cape Town and the surrounding areas, bringing the same care to a six-person picnic as we would a sixty-person garden party.
